Dear partners, colleagues and visitors of www.mca.gov.md,

Driven by the mission to ensure in 2016 and 2017 the sustainability of the Compact investments, the Sustainable Development Account Moldova (SDA Moldova), which is the successor entity of the Millennium Challenge Account Moldova (MCA Moldova), has launched its new website  www.sda.gov.md.

As of today SDA Moldova has a new corporate website to communicate with the public. www.sda.gov.md will keep you updated about the results of the major activities that SDA Moldova will carry out towards fulfilling its mission, by promoting an efficient model for management of infrastructure investments, providing assistance to Water Users’ Associations established by farmers, facilitating the access to funding and expanding the irrigated areas.

It should be reminded that the Compact was a grant assistance program that Moldova received from the U.S. Government, acting through the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), and was successfully implemented in the period of 2010 – 2015 by MCA Moldova. The latter was established as a public entity by the Government of Moldova in order to implement the Compact Agreement signed on January 22, 2010 by MCC and the Moldovan Government.

The USD 262 million Compact invested in the transition to high value agriculture and improvement of the Moldovan road infrastructure in order to contribute to poverty reduction through the economic growth of the country. Its goal was to increase people’s incomes by increasing agricultural production and improving the access to markets and services.
