Irrigation is already available for farmers

About 80 million USD are invested by the U.S. Government in the rehabilitation of 10 irrigation systems that will cover more than 15 thousand hectares of land farmed by more than 9 thousand farmers.

The reconstruction and modernization of the Lopatna irrigation system cost about 3.6 million USD. It covers about 500 hectares worked by the farmers from the Lopatna, Jora de Jos, Jora de Sus and Jora de Mijloc villages.

The other irrigation systems – Cosnita, Puhaceni, Roscani and Jora de Jos, Blindesti, Grozesti, Leova and Chircani-Zirnesti - will be put into operation in June-August 2015. The works at these systems are carried out according to the work plans, and at least at 3 systems are expected to be completed ahead of schedule.
